DUBAI LAW FOR TOURISTS

• Wear appropriate clothing
• Know the restrictions during the holy month of Ramadan
• Loud music is prohibited in public areas
• Don’t use bad language, don’t swear
• No casinos in Dubai
• Sunday is a working day
• Drinking alcohol is not allowed in public only in hotels

Offensive language, spitting, aggressive behaviour are not tolerated. Public displays of affection such as kissing is not tolerated. It is customary for men to shake hands however Emirati women tend not to offer their hands to men. Consuming alcohol in public places are prohibited and there is zero tolerance for drugs.

Public displays of affection should be minimal – holding hands is acceptable but kissing and hugging in public is not. – Noise disruptions, bad language, making obscene gestures and showing disrespect in any way to Dubai’s religion or its leaders are all forbidden and may land you in legal trouble.
